Upgrading one’s skills no matter what field you are in, say even for domestic helpers can certainly boost one’s chances of landing or transitioning to a new line of work.
So, when training programs and seminars are offered by the government or any NGO that supports the career development of students, professionals, and even domestic helpers, it is wise that we give these some thought and consideration because the benefits in the long run are too good to pass.
TESDA to Visit HK to Accredit Massage, Caregiver Trainees
Over 500 migrant workers who have completed training courses in massage and caregiving will be screened by officers from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the next two weekends for possible issuance of NC2 certificates, as shared in a report by the Sun.
According to Labour Attache Jalilo Dela Torre, those who are seeking assessments are graduates of training courses provided by the Philippine Overseas Labour Office (POLO) and other groups.
Among this number are 338 massage therapists and 172 caregivers who will have their skills assessment starting February 16-17, and continued on Feb 23 and 24.
All the caregiver examinees are graduates of Active Global, a private firm that provides training to migrant workers who wish to solely focus on looking after sick or debilitated.
The NC2 skills assessment for massage therapists will be held at the POLO premises on the said dates in the Wan Chai District.
Meanwhile, the screening for caregivers will be held at the training center of Active Global on the 17th floor, Units 1703-04 in the Wan Chai District, as well.
