Real Estate Company Turns Over House and Lot to Children of Late Hong Kong OFW from Palawan

After being diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2019, Baby Jane Allas, an OFW in Hong Kong, was dismissed from her job. She believed it was an unlawful dismissal and challenged the decision. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2021; five years later, a Hong Kong court ruled in her favor.

A single mother, Baby Jane had left behind five children, who are now under the care of their aunt and grandmother. To help them build a brighter future, Vista Land, a leading real estate company in the Philippines, made a generous donation: a house and lot property in Camella Palawan, a place to call their “forever home.”

Hong Kong Court Rules in Favor of OFW in Dismissal Case

In Hong Kong, a court has ordered Baby Jane’s former employer to pay about PHP 2 million in damages for wrongful dismissal, the Manila Bulletin reported. However, her family has yet to receive the money, since the employer had reportedly gone into hiding.

After her passing, Baby Jane’s five children were cared for by their aunt, Mary Anne, and grandmother, Annabelle. Though grieving, they struggled to move forward, unknowing that a huge blessing was about to come.

Vista Land Donates House and Lot to OFW’s Family

Vista Land, the country’s largest integrated property developer, donated a house and lot property to Baby Jane’s family. Vista Land Chairman Manny Villar himself personally handed the keys to their new home in Camella Palawan, calling it a place where they can “heal and grow.”

“Today, through Vista Land, we are grateful for the opportunity to turn our commitment to creating places where Filipino families can build their forever into something meaningful for Baby Jane’s family,” Villar stated in a Facebook post. “We hope this home gives her children a place where they can stay together, heal, grow, and pursue the dreams their mother worked so hard to build for them.”

Like many other Filipinos, Baby Jane made the difficult decision to be away from her children, so she could provide them with a better life. Today, a generous donation made one of her dreams come true, as her family now has a place where they can grow… a place to call their own.
