ADVISORY: Hong Kong Raises Response to “Emergency” Level due to Coronavirus

To everyone in Hong Kong, please be advised that the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health has raised the Hong Kong Government’s response level to the highest “Emergency Response Level“.

Philippine Consulate General Hong Kong Important Advisory on the Novel Coronavirus

The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health has raised the Hong Kong Government’s response level to the highest “Emergency Response Level“, indicating that the risk of health impact caused by the novel infection on the local population in Hong Kong is high and imminent.

The Consulate General supports the government’s efforts to control the spread of the disease.

We urge all Filipinos in Hong Kong to cooperate with said initiative especially by following guidelines issued by Hong Kong health authorities.

Filipinos in Hong Kong are advised to take necessary precautions (use of face mask, wash hands thoroughly, maintain good personal hygiene), avoid large crowds and gatherings, and avoid interaction with persons exhibiting symptoms.

Community organizations are also advised to postpone public events help reduce the risk of infection.
