Heavy Penalties Under Hong Kong Law

  • Life imprisonment

These penalties apply to anyone found guilty, whatever their nationality or residency status.

A Reminder for Travelers and OFWs

For the many Filipinos and other expatriates who live, work, or travel through Hong Kong, this case is a sobering reminder of how strictly the city enforces its drug laws. Airport checks are thorough, and the consequences of a trafficking conviction can change a life forever.

Travelers are responsible for everything inside their luggage. Packing your own bags and keeping them with you at all times are simple steps that help protect you and your future. If you are ever unsure about what you are carrying or are asked to carry items for someone else, it is always safer to say no and seek advice.
